LIVING ON STAGE

WORK AS AN ARCHITECTURESTUDENT
By looking at the stage design the rastered tulips are eye-catching. They are not only setting but also the guiding theme of the play „carnage“ (real title „le die du carnage“) from Yasmina Reza. The raster of tulips as well as the colour yellow matter.
In the first instance the tulips are representing the world where the people are living. Instead of the untamed wilderness in which the people in the old days had lived, they now live in a superficial and arranged world – like a „classified wilderness“. The more the story has been told and the more the people showed their real face the tuplis are getting more and more destroyed. In the first place it looks like a civilised and cultivated world, the tulips too. But in the course of the play all the tulips fell into ruin like the people did –  so the flowers are not only  stage props but also a dynamic part of the play.
